Nurturing Our Argentine Tango Community

Our goal is to provide quality instruction and make a difference in the local tango community. As one of the few organizations teaching Argentine tango in the community, we take pride in being able to pass on our knowledge and skills to our students. Claire Braswell and Roger Peterson began studying Argentine tango in 2005 with Pablo Fontana.

Fontana studied with some of the masters of tango and appeared in tango films and tours throughout Argentina and the US. They have continued their studies through workshops and seminars throughout the US, including those in Baltimore, Philadelphia, DC, Boulder, CO, Stowe, VT, Lenox, MA, and Albuquerque, NM. In addition to workshops and classes in the US, Claire and Roger have studied intensively in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Claire began ballet training as a child in South Carolina and also trained at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, and Cincinnati Ballet schools. Roger began his dance training at the School of American Ballet and danced professionally with the New York City Ballet and the Pennsylvania Ballet. Claire and Roger have studied the art of teaching tango with Sebastian Arce and Marianna Montes, as well as Gustavo Naviera and Giselle Anne. Roger is also a popular DJ for milongas in the mid-Atlantic region. They began teaching Argentine tango and hosting milongas as Tango Esta Noche in 2010.
